The cemetery

History of the Laval Cemetery

Since 1980, the Poirier family has managed and developed the Laval Cemetery and provided respectful burial sites to its clientele from a variety of communities. Since then, the Laval Cemetery has developed into what it is today one of the most beautiful and largest modern cemeteries on Montreal's North Shore.

In business since 1923, the Poirier family continues to offer a complete and continually expanded range of funeral products and services that meet the needs of this ever-changing market.

Well established in its community, the next generation of this five-generation family-owned Quebec company continues to uphold the family’s solid reputation for integrity and transparency built over a century in the service of people.

MISSION: To provide respectful burial sites that are within the reach of everyone

Respectful of rituals, customs, beliefs, personal needs and the environment, the Laval Cemetery has evolved and remained in tune with society and works constantly to preserve this site of renewal and contemplation for future generations.

Each of our employees and partners works toward the beautification and preservation of this site.

Our social commitment to the community

The Laval Cemetery also distinguishes itself through its many community commitments to numerous local, regional and national organizations and associations, providing them with the human, IT, material and financial logistics necessary to carry out their projects, free of charge. Many of these organizations support children who are sick or struggling, seniors, and the poorest members of society and have an extremely positive impact in the community.

For several years, the Laval Cemetery has entered into special agreements with the following organizations and offers them a variety of funeral services free of charge:

  • Le Phare-Enfant et Familles
  • Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (perinatal bereavement)
  • Hôpital Cité de la Santé Laval (perinatal bereavement)
  • Hôpital Pierre-Le Gardeur (perinatal bereavement)
